Happy feet...

Birdland penguins get n-ice treat for their happy feet.

A colony of king penguins have been given giant ice blocks to help them chill out during the hot weather.

With temperatures pushing 30 degrees, the penguins - who are most comfortable in arctic conditions - have been struggling to cope.

So staff at wildlife attraction Birdland in Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire, froze tubs of water to recreate miniature icebergs for the flightless birds.

They have also installed a series of water sprinklers around their enclosure to allow them to cool down.

Birdland, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, looks after the UK’s only breeding colony of king penguins - the second largest specimen of penguins in the world who weigh up to 40lb.
