Curator Andrew Baines in Nelson's 'light and airy' day cabin.
Shiver me timbers - HMS Victory get's a dramatic makeover...its baby blue paint, a lovely new Axminster carpet, and a futon for Nelson.
Admiral Lord Nelson's famous flagship has undergone a remarkable makeover that includes baby blue painted walls and a futon bed, after historians researched exactly how it looked at Trafalgar.
Gone is the heavily varnished timber and Victorian wooden furniture that made the Great Cabin a dark and dingy place.
Instead conservationists have adopted a less-is-more approach to interior design and the place where Britain's most famous sailor slept, ate and relaxed has become a more light and airy space.
