The finishing touches are being put on a spectacular light display that will see Beatrix Potter's iconic stories brought to life in glowing glory at a country estate.

Giant illuminated figures of beloved characters likes of Peter Rabbit, Squirrel Nutkin and Mrs Tiggy-Winkle will wow crowds when Longleat Safari and Adventure Park in Wiltshire unveils its annual Festival of Light.

The children's characters, which also include Jemima Puddle-Duck and Jeremy Fisher, feature in a series of scenes recreating famous extracts from the author's favourite stories to mark the 150th anniversary of her birth.
The 140 animals will be placed alongside thousands of Chinese lanterns that make up the Festival of Light, featuring more than 25,000 individual lanterns, more than 30,000 bulbs, 2.5 miles of LED lighting and 12 miles of silk.
