Attention to detail - this poster reveals the science behind Vitamin C in a variety of different vegatables grown in different seasons. The government was keen the country should become self sufficient in food so the convoys could concentrate on shipping armaments.
Home Front pamphlets bring back to life the fascinating spade work behind wartime Britain's Dig For Victory campaign.
The fascinating set of posters, pamphlets and documents issued by the Ministery of Agriculture during the famous 'Dig For Victory' campaign have been unearthed.

The set of more than 30 documents includes posters which were distributed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries to parishes across the land to encourage the British public to produce their own food and free up shipping for war materials.

They were discovered in the store room of an old agricultural research organisation in Llanishen, just north of Cardiff, by a scientist in 1975 who has kept them in a box in his study since then.
Now, the vendor, who wishes to remain anonymous, has put the documents on the market and they are tipped to sell for £2,000.
