Most people's clearouts end in a car boot sale, but one family stand to make £1 million auctioning the forgotten family treasures that were hidden around their home.

Mark and Lucianne Warde-Norbury had to sift through 300 years of family possessions when they inherited Hooton Pagnell Hall in South Yorkshire.

The 559-lot collection, which totals about 2,000 items, includes pistols, paintings, furniture, jewellery, Victorian toys, tribal weapons and taxidermy from almost every room in the house.
It is expected to fetch £1 million when it is sold at Bonhams.
