Wind of change at Salisbury Cathedral - Fund raising appeal launched for £700,000 renovation of historic organ.

Salisbury Cathedral's historic Willis Organ, built in 1877 at a cost of £3,500 and described as one of the finest in the world, is now in need of a £700,000 renovation that will put the 141 year old instrument out of action for over a year.
The massive instrument's 3,800 pipes made from a lead/tin alloy and pine wood will have to be painstakingly dismantled and taken off to church organ experts Harrison & Harrison in Durham.
