An office worker who once weighed 16 stone and smoked 20 cigarettes a day has been picked to represent England in the marathon at the Commonwealth Games.
Steve Way, from Sturminster Marhsall near Poole, Dorset, has transformed himself from an unfit and unhealthy couch potato into an elite long distance runner capable of taking on the world's best.
And now just six years after embarking on his remarkable running career his wildest dream has come true after he was named in the Team England squad for Glasgow 2014.
Incredibly, Steve, who turns 40 just three weeks before the start of the Games, only took up running aged 33 in 2006 as a way of snapping out of his unhealthy lifestyle.
