Shiver me timbers...A toy pirates treasure chest throws up real gold coin worth £250,000.

A labourer is set to reap a life-changing £250,000 windfall after discovering the rarest British coin ever made - in his four-year-old son's toy treasure chest.

The 35-year-old had been given the 'lost' 300 year old Queen Anne Vigo five guinea coin by his late grandfather 30 years ago to play pirate games with.

After he bought his own son a treasure chest he dug the coin out and gave it to him to play with before having an auctioneer have a look at it.

It is to be sold by Essex auctioneers Bonningtons.
