An incredibly rare pair of Harry Houdini's handcuffs that were specially altered to provide the great escape artist a quick release have emerged for sale.

The cast iron shackles were worn by the famous performer while he attempted to escape from the famous Chinese Water Torture trick.

This is believed to be the first time that a pair of altered handcuffs belonging to Houdini have emerged for sale.

They are expected to fetch £3,000 pounds when they go up for auction at Bloomsbury in London.
