A D-Day hero who captured the tallest soldier in the German army in a comic David v Goliath moment has been awarded France's top honour 70 years later.
Corporal Bob Roberts, 92, from Bournemouth, was one of the first troops to step foot on the Normandy beaches and fought throughout France, often leading a charmed life.
He has now been awarded the Legion d'Honneur by the French government.
