Queen Anne (wall) and Sarah Chuchill came face to face once more...

The real-life characters behind Olivia Colman's Oscar-tipped film The Favourite have been reunited as part of Blenheim Palace's annual deep clean.

The portraits of Queen Anne, played by Colman in the film, and Sarah, the first Duchess of Marlborough, who was portrayed by Rachel Weisz, have been brought together in Blenheim's Great Hall to allow a team of specialist's to undertake the winter clean.

The film, a historical comedy/drama, depicts the tumultuous relationship between the pair in the early 18th century.

The land to build Blenheim was gifted to the first Duke and Duchess by Queen Anne after John Churchill's stunning pan-european alliance defeated Louis XIV of France.

Despite Anne gifting them the land to build the magnificent Palace she also eventually stripped them of their official roles at Court after falling out with strong minded Duchess.
