Britains biggest garlic grower is celebrating a jumbo sized crop of enormous Elephant garlic (Allium ampeloprasum) this year after the wet winter and hot spring have produced a bumper crop.

And now as the dry spell continues Mark Botwright is working round the clock to harvest over 80,000 bulbs of his 13 tonne crop.

Mark says 'I've never seen a crop like it in 17 years, if you'd told me in March that we would have such giant bulbs I would have been astounded'

Mark is one of only two growers in the UK producing elephant garlic, with top chefs in London his main customers for the huge bulbs, over three times the size of a normal clove.
