A bloody Martin Cade after the seagull attack.
An ornithologist was left covered in blood after he was attacked by two vicious seagulls as tried to rescue their baby chick.
Martin Cade was asked by his neighbour to help return the stranded gull to its nest on the roof of her house on Portland, Dorset.
As soon as the 56-year-old scooped up the baby bird and made a beeline for the ladder to get to the nest he was dive-bombed by its parents which feared he was a threat to the youngster.
One of them used its sharp peak to strike him square on the head, drawing blood immediately.
