An angler is celebrating after breaking the record for catching the biggest tiddler in Britain for the second year running.
Craig Birchall, 25, landed a huge stickleback fish weighing in at a 10.6 grams, or almost four ounces, and measuring 2.9 inches in length.
The specimen broke the British record also set by Craig in 2013, which was for a stickleback weighing 8.8 grams.
Craig caught the three spined stickleback using a tiny piece of worm as bait and the smallest hook he could get his hands on.
He had been fishing for about an hour and reeled in hundreds of miniscule fish before his float went under and he pulled up the enormous creature.
The catch was witnessed by his mum Catherine, who took a photograph of the fish next to his hands for scale before he threw it back into the water alive and well.
