Beachlovers will never have to worry about their mobile going dead on a day out again - thanks to a renewable energy expert's new invention.

Entrepreneur Eric Hawkins, 69, has come up with the Solarbrella - a clever fold-away solar panel that fits over a beach parasol and allows people to charge their phone or plug in a speaker to listen to music while they catch some rays.

The clever system provides enough energy to run a laptop for 11 hours and has four USB ports so people can power multiple devices at once.
Mr Hawkins is now looking for an investor so he can get the first 100 produced and start selling them to the general public.
