A personal portrait Adolf Hitler gave to former Prime Minister David Lloyd George during his controversial visit to see the German dictator in 1936 has emerged for sale for £22,000.<br />
<br />
The Liberal politician struck up an unlikely friendship with the Nazi ruler during the trip to the Bavarian Alps and even declared him the 'greatest living German.'<br />
<br />
In return, Hitler presented pro-German Lloyd George with a large signed photograph of himself. <br />
<br />
The image is now being sold by Dominic Winter Auctioneers of Cirencester.
