A historic country estate which was once the subject of a 150 year mystery of sunken treasure has gone on the market for the first time in 250 years.

Spains Hall in Essex was burgled in the 18th century but the raiders' getaway cart got stuck in a bog and they threw their loot of silver in a lake on the estate.

It wasn't until 1902 the lake was drained and the treasure was found.
The estate in now on the market for £6m.
