The world's most expensive caviar dish - which is big enough to hold £35,000 worth of the luxury delicacy - has gone on sale in Britain.

The ultimate in exclusive accessories, the solid silver trough weighs almost 80lbs, is three feet long, 21 inches wide and over a foot in height.

It can hold 13lbs of the sturgeon fish eggs, which can sell for up to £166 per ounce.

Anybody interested in buying the dish for their next dinner party will have to stump up £100,000 for it.

It was made on the direct orders of a very wealthy oil baron from Texas in 2002 but is now being sold at auction in London.

The lid of the dish depicts a silver sturgeon fish while the base of it is made up of aquatic motifs including waves and shells.

Inside it is separated into five deep glass dishes to hold the caviar.

It is now being sold by auctioneers Christie's of London.
