Council Depot transformed into a million pound minimalist masterpiece.

An architect has transformed a former council depot in Hackney into a stunning £1.35million property.

James Davies, 34, has spent two years transforming the historic, dilapidated former school building in Stoke Newington, north east London, into a modern, stylish two-storey, two-bedroom house, living on site during the conversion.

The renovation of the site at Defoe Road, which is yards from the high street, cost a hefty £350,000.

But the investment has paid off handsomely as the property, which has its own inner courtyard, has already been snapped up for £1.35m.
