Abseiling conservationists needed a head for heights to tackle this tall order - scaling 82ft to inspect a 30-tonne marble bust of King Louis XIV.<br />

Rope access technicians Tom Brennan and Mark Fresch have been carrying out an inspection of the exterior of Blenheim Palace to check for any loose or damaged stonework.<br />

The hair-raising job brought them face-to-face with the massive 6.5ft head of France's famous Sun King, which was looted by the Duke of Marlborough in 1709.<br />

The work is part of an ongoing £40m restoration programme at the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Oxfordshire.
