A creepy collection of almost 100 'lifelike' dolls modelled on children has sold for hearly £1million.

The eerie-looking toys were made in Germany in the early 20th century as dollmakers strived to produce dolls with realistic human features.

The collection of 92 dolls, which includes some of the rarest ever made, has been pieced together by a European enthusiast over the past 30 years.
