Britain's first sparkling wine in a can that is aimed at reducing the billion litres of bubbly thrown away each year has been produced - in Peckham.

But the new invention is not a Del Boy-type scam but the brainchild of two entrepreneurs who have already struck a deal to sell the cans in posh Selfridges.

In a move that will make some wine connoisseurs turn their noses up, the English bubbly is now available to buy in 250ml aluminium cans at £5 a pop.
The canned fizz is targeted at consumers who want a large glass of sparkling wine without having to open a whole bottle of Champagne or prosecco.
