An incredibly rare Faberge carving of a Tyrannosaurus Rex that had been lost for over 100 years has sold at auction for £50,000.

The 6ins tall model made from jade and tiny diamonds was found in a family's display cabinet where it had been kept for 40 years.

It was missing its two front legs, possibly from previously being played with by a child.
The unidentified piece was put up for sale with a provincial auction house for just £500 and the listing was spotted by British antiques expert Geoffrey Munn.
