While this year's Tokyo Olympics competitors are producing extraordinary feats in the sporting arena, these fallen Olympians displayed heroism of a different kind.<br />

Dozens died carrying out acts of gallantry in major battles including D-Day, while almost 60 Jewish participants perished in concentration camps during the Holocaust.
