The London Peaky Blinders

A collection of remarkably rare Victorian mugshots used by police to identify London's gangs has emerged for sale more than 120 years later.

The photographic album compiled between 1895 and 1916 has portraits of hundreds of men known to forces in south and east London.
Dressed in sharp suits and caps reminiscent of the Peaky Blinders, it is thought many were involved in organised crime and racketeering.
