The childhood home of George Harrison has sold for £171,000 at auction.

The Harrison family moved into the modest council house in Upton Green, Speke, Liverpool in 1949 when George was six-years-old.

They spent 12 years in the terraced property and it was where he and his friends Paul McCartney and John Lennon held their first band rehearsals.
The family left the three-bedroom house in 1962 just as the Fab Four were about to hit the big time.
