A remarkable single-owner collection of over 200 historic British coins spanning eight monarchs has sold for a staggering £353,000.<br />
<br />
Ian Sawden amassed an array of coinage from the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian periods, with the latest examples struck during George VI's reign.<br />

A 1797 Cartwheel proof gold penny from George III's reign, decorated with a laureate bust wearing a wreath with 10 leaves, fetched £24,800.<br />

A 1788 gold halfpenny depicting Britannia seated with a spear achieved £27,280, while a 1799 gold halfpenny went for £23,560 and a 1848 Proof Florin coin from Victoria's reign sold for £16,120.
