An eclectic collection of Winston Churchill mementos acquired by his personal nurse is set to sell for £15,000.

The late Ivan Sheppard lived with the former prime minister at his home in Chartwell, Kent, for several years in the 1950s.

He kept hold of about 60 items including photos, letters, luggage labels, cigar boxes and a '10 Downing Street' labelled hatbox.

Seven decades on, Mr Sheppard's family are selling the treasured items with auctioneers Duke's, of Dorchester, Dorset.
The collection features photos of Churchill on holiday with the Greek ship magnate Aristotle Onassis in Turkey. In one of the images, he can be seen with a trademark cigar in his mouth and flashing the 'V' for victory sign
