A small group of volunteers have reintroduced a historic seaside bus service after spending five years restoring the original bus that travelled the route 50 years ago.
The classic yellow open top 1965 Daimler Fleetline double decker is back running the old 'Route 12' service between Bournemouth and Hengistbury Head.
The volunteers drive and conduct the bus, as well as maintaining it and producing the timetables and bus stop flags.
The vintage Bournemouth Corporation Transport bus ran along the idyllic five mile stretch of Dorset coastline from 1965 to 1977.
But it had fallen into a 'sorry state' and was languishing in a depot when it was purchased by the volunteers from a bus operator in Purfleet, Essex, for £2,000 in 2014.
