A seedbomb being thrown.

A gardening enthusiast has come up with an innovative way to spruce up abandoned areas - with 'bombs' full of wildflower seeds.

The bombs are made from recycled paper and peat-free compost and shaped to look like a grenade.

They are filled with a variety of seeds including poppies, marigolds, clover, cornflower, forget-me-not, thyme, and basil.

They can be tossed anywhere and will naturally disentegrate into the ground over time, dispersing the seeds.
