A selection of vintage chocolate and sweets wrappers have been unearthed to help trigger happy memories in dementia sufferers.

Some of the earliest examples of the Rowntrees packaging dates from the 1920s and includes the first wrappers for famous treats such as Aero, Dairy Box, and Fruit Gums.

As the brands were updated over the years the paper casing was gradually changed but examples of the early versions were stored in an archive.

Historians at Rowntrees have now placed images of the packets on an online document so that they can be seen by dementia sufferers as a way to reminisce.
