Star Wars (1977) Film Poster. UK 18X25". Linen Backed sold for £600.

A tiny plastic rocket from a Star Wars action figure has sold for almost £2,000 as part of a huge £160,000 sale of rare toys relating to the film franchise.

The red missile measures just 28mm long and was attached to the back of a prototype figure of bounty hunter Boba Fett.

A complete prototype Boba Fett can sell for £13,000 but thanks to a letter of authentication and grading by the Action Figure Authority (AFA), the small rocket made £1,920 by itself at auction.

It was one of almost 700 Star Wars lots that sold for £160,000, with many toys that originally sold for £1.50 achieving four-figure sums.

With the release of Star Wars:The Force Awakens imminent, interest in memorabilia from the franchise has never been higher.
