A 34-year-old slice of fruit cake is set to sell for a staggering £2,600 - because it is from the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

The wedding cake has been sat wrapped in an ornamental doily in a box since the spectacle at Buckingham Palace on July 29 1981.

Despite its age the cake has been perfectly preserved thanks to the high level of alcohol in it and is still edible - but its value comes from the fact that it is still in tact.
Incredibly, it is now set to sell for $4,000 - around £2,600 - at Nate D. Sanders auctioneers.
