Brothers Alex and Robbie Georgiou and their friend John Coombs collect mountains of old coffee grounds from cafes and use it to produce revolutionary new fresh mushroom tetra packs.
The waste grounds would otherwise be sent to landfill - but instead the trio have used them to grow handy packs of unique-tasting oyster mushrooms which can just be watered and then left for the mushrooms to sprout.
In 2013 they collected 10 tonnes of coffee grounds from cafes and coffee shops around Brighton, East Sussex - enough to make one million espressos, the new Kitchen Gardens ensure that foodies can now find a ecological use for the old coffee, and grow fresh mushrooms at the same time.
