Rolls Royce Silver Ghost with a racey royal past.
A Rolls-Royce car thought to have been used by controversial monarch Edward VIII to sneak his lover Wallis Simpson in and out of Royal estate Balmoral has emerged for sale for £120,000.
It is rumoured that Edward, who sparked a constitutional meltdown in 1936 when he abdicated the throne to be with the the American divorcee, had blinds fitted to the rear of the specially-built motor so they could travel without being spotted.
The Silver Ghost car was a year old in 1922 when Edward, then the Prince of Wales, bought it to go on shooting parties at the Royal family's Highlands retreat.
It is thought that at some point before becoming king and then abdicating the throne in 1936, Edward fitted blinds to the rear compartment of the car for privacy on romantic breaks to Balmoral with Simpson.
It is tipped to fetch £120,000 when it goes under the hammer at H & H Classics.
