Tree-mendous...Green fingered Devon artist creates amazing tree's.

Talented artist Alarik Greenland(28) has painstakingly recreated ancient trees from the river Dart valley around his Totnes home using twisted wire for the wind blown trunks and branches and tiny crystal's for individual leaves.

He starts by twisting tiny strands of silver wire to create a thick trunk section and then separate's them out for the roots weaving into the ground. He then places hundreds of gems onto pieces of the 0.4mm thread and twists them together to make thick branches.

The whole thing is then mounted onto a piece of ancient bog oak that Alarik finds in the River Dart.

It takes month's of intricate effort to create each tree hench the £2500 price tag for the unique works.
