This might look like a clapped out old banger - but it's actually one of the very first electric cars.<br />
<br />
The two seater car is powered by six batteries and is expected to fetch nearly £21,000 when it goes under the hammer next month at auction house Artcurial Motors.<br />
<br />
The rare Pierre Faure model which was unveiled in late 1940s is the result of a World War Two experiment to solve fuel shortages and has come to light after an extraordinary 60 years.<br />
<br />
It's in a well-preserved condition and is one of just around 20 original vehicles like it developed in the face of limited wartime supplies.<br />
<br />
Although it looks like a toy car, it was designed by experts looking for alternative methods of power and could reach 40kilometres per hour.
