its a knockout - Muhammed Ali's gloves from his historic victory over Sonny Liston in 1964 have sold for a world record £520,000 at auction last night.
The boxing gloves were worn by the then Cassius Clay when against all odds he claimed the Heavyweight Championship of the world on 25th February 1964.
Liston was the most intimidating fighter at the time and the match was one of the most anticipated in the sport's history.
Clay, weighing in at 210lbs and Liston, at 218lbs, fought for seven rounds before the former heavyweight retired and Clay was declared the winner by technical knockout.
The hammer finally went down at $836,500 over £200,000 more than the estimate.
