Dreaded Red Baron to fly again...WW1 Ace's feared 'Fokker Dreidecker' to finally fly over Britain.

A German GP based in Norfolk has spent 8 years building a Fokker triplane in his garage as a tribute to infamous WW1 Ace Manfred von Ricthofen, who terrorised the skies over the Western front during the first war.

Dr Peter Brueggemann, 52, will fulfil his childhood dream and emulate the notorious German fighter pilot when the Dreidecker Dr.1 fighter finally achieves lift-off this summer.

Dr Brueggemann has even acquired the title Baron from the independent territory of Sealand so he can take to the skies as Baron Peter von Brueggemann in homage to his idol.

The GP at the Holt Medical Practice in Norfolk hopes to be airborne in a few months once tests on the engine are completed at Felthorpe airfield near Norwich where he has devoted thousands of hours to the project.

The father-of-two, who has lived in England with wife Sue for 20 years, has been taking flying lessons since his project began.
